I welcome you into the warmth my home in Rapid Creek with tea, matcha or coffee and some treats to learn to carve a ring with me. In this workshop I will have files, various types of wax, spirit lamps (to warm tools to melt the wax for textures), optional stones (for an added cost) and other carving tools. This means you can learn to create almost any ring!
I will begin the class by showing you how to use the file to create a signet style shape with a larger ring face and a smaller band around the back. You don't need to follow my lead the whole time and I encourage play and curiosity with the tools and the wax.
If you have any of your own ideas let me know and I can work with you to bring it to reality.
The price for this class covers 9 grams of silver in the $250 cost. You can add in a stone to your piece for an added $25. If you want to go over the included weight in silver it will be and extra $7.50 per gram and I will invoice you on the day. This invoice will be sent to you at the end of the class and needs to be paid immediately.
I have allocated three hours for this class, if you finish early you are welcome to head off! I just want to make sure you have enough time to carve and create your special piece.
Please also note there is one flight of stairs to reach the apartment and a small cat that lives here too.
I will post these to my casting house in Melbourne - Lenrose, where I will get your pieces cast in sterling silver. Once they are shipped back to me I will professionally finish them and you can come and collect them or they will be posted out to you within 3 weeks.
Theses classes can run with a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 6. Private workshops are available too please reach out to make a date. I will send you a confirmation email with my address once you have booked in and paid.
CANCELLATIONS - I understand plans can change but please be mindful that you could be taking someone else's place in this workshop. Full refunds will be provided for 48 hours notice to the start of the class and 50% refunds for anytime between then and the start of the class.
