About Courtney
Hello!
I'm Courtney. I'm the one who has handcrafted all of these beautiful pieces.
My journey into jewellery began when I was 20 through a short course I found at Melbourne Polytechnic. I was mesmerised by how metal becomes liquid through the power of fire and heat. When this was over I felt I must buy myself a torch and continue playing with and growing this skill. I was very attracted to the technique of soldering and connecting wires and pieces together to create form and shapes.
I studied a Bachelor of Fine Arts at RMIT in Gold and Silversmithing where I learnt many more skills (such as enamelling, silversmithing and casting) and worked alongside some very creative people, graduating in 2019. My practice grew to focus on the interconnected web which we all exist in, the lifecycle of materials and the stories which can be drawn from any object.
Over the years I have made larger scale avant garde pieces, which I am always open to creating more of. Please get in contact if you would like to work together!
I want to make pieces which are long lasting and meaningful. Nothing makes me happier than seeing people wearing my creations, incorporating them into their lives and making memories with them.
Thanks for stopping by,
Courtney x
